Applications for the 2020 round of MIME Seed Funding are now open!
Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre in partnership with the Monash Institute of Medical Engineering (MIME) invites clinicians of all disciplines to submit brief proposals describing unmet clinical needs. Seed funding is available to support partnerships with IT/digital health or engineering researchers to discover new medical solutions including technologies, devices and digital health.
Applications may request up to $50,000 per project with cardiac and big data themed proposals to be highly regarded.
Successful past applicants are invited to apply for top up funding. Previously unsuccessful applications can also be resubmitted for consideration.
Phase 1 applications are now open until Monday 21 September. Clinicians are to submit a brief application describing their clinical problem and desire to work in partnership with IT/digital health or engineering researchers.
Application forms can be accessed, HERE.
Selected proposals will then be announced on our website on Monday 5 October.
Where an IT/digital health or engineering solution is available, researchers will contact clinicians to establish project teams.
Phase 2 applications will open Tuesday 6 October and are to be developed by the relevant project teams, outlining the clinical problem, proposed IT/digital health or engineering solution and funding proposal. These submissions will be subject to a peer review process that will involve a brief presentation to the Review Panel and a Q and A session via Zoom.
*Please note: Clinicians that did not participate in the recent Affinity meeting ARE ELIGIBLE to submit a Phase 1 application.
