MIME Seed Funding applications now open: Practical solutions for frontline clinical problems

Applications for the 2021 round of MIME Seed Funding are now open! Apply HERE.

The Monash Institute of Medical Engineering, in partnership with Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre invites clinicians of all disciplines to submit brief proposals describing unmet clinical needs.

Seed funding is available to support partnerships with IT/digital health, engineering or design researchers to discover new medical solutions including technologies, devices and digital health.

Applications may request up to $50,000 per project with cardiac and big data themed proposals to be highly regarded.

Successful past applicants are invited to apply for top up funding. Previously unsuccessful applications can also be resubmitted for consideration.

Phase 1 applications are now open until Friday 23 July. Selected proposals will then be announced on the MIME website on Monday 2 August.

Where an IT/digital health, engineering or design solution is available, researchers will contact clinicians to establish project teams.

Phase 2 applications will open Tuesday 3 August and are to be developed by the relevant project teams, outlining the clinical problem, proposed IT/digital health, engineering or design solution and funding proposal. These submissions will be subject to a peer review process that will involve a brief presentation to the Review Panel and a Q and A session via Zoom.

*Please note: Clinicians that did not participate in the recent Affinity meeting ARE ELIGIBLE to submit a Phase 1 application.
