This year, we mark 10 years since our NHMRC accreditation in 2015 and, in line with our evolving focus, the Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre is now Monash Partners Health Translation Network. Our new name and logo better reflect our commitment to translating research into better health outcomes through collaboration, while our purpose—to connect researchers, clinicians, and the community—remains unchanged.
Last week, the 2025 Monash Partners Annual Symposium brought together researchers, clinicians, and leaders to explore how digital health and AI are reshaping healthcare. This year’s theme, Turning Insight Into Impact, featured The Hon. Mary Ann Thomas, Minister for Health for Victoria, keynote speaker Dr Louise Schaper, digital health lead, early and mid career researcher Dr Emma Foster and a panel of health service CEOs, highlighting collaborative opportunities to improve care, support clinicians, and empower patients.
We also celebrated research excellence at the Symposium. Congratulations to our Early and Mid-Career Researcher and Consumer Awardees:
- Chris Ewart, Consumer.
- Dr Lachlan Dalli, Monash University.
- Dr Edmond Kwan, Monash University and Eastern Health.
- Dr Michelle Kehoe, Monash University and Alfred Health.
- Associate Professor Emma Ridley, Alfred Health and Monash University.
- Dr Lubna Shakhatreh, Monash Health.
- Dr Marijke Mitchell, Monash Health.
Our Strategic Translation and Research (STAR) Fellowship recipients were also recognised for integrating research with clinical care to drive real-world impact. We now have at least one STAR Fellow embedded within all our Partner health services. We congratulate the following on their STAR Fellowships.
- Dr Edmond Kwan, Eastern Health and Monash University.
- Dr Ashvind Prabahran, Monash Health.
- Dr Louise Segan, Cabrini Health and Alfred Health.
- Dr Susie Cartledge, Alfred Health.
- Katherine Sewell, Alfred Health.

Finally, our 2024–2025 Impact Report is now available to download, highlighting how we have advanced our strategic pillars of CONNECT | SUPPORT | IMPACT and responded to partner, consumer, and community priorities through collaborative health research and research translation. DOWNLOAD HERE.
