From the Executive Director: Advancing impact through implementation science

As Executive Director of Monash Partners, I am constantly reminded that generating evidence is only part of the equation. Real impact happens when research is embedded into everyday practice – when new knowledge meaningfully improves how care is delivered and experienced. That is the essence of Implementation Science.

Our Health Services Research and Implementation Science Platform drives a system-wide approach to translating evidence into practice to improve outcomes for Victorians. Effective change requires more than intention; it demands the right frameworks, methods and tools to ensure evidence-based interventions are adopted and sustained across diverse settings.

I am delighted to announce the launch of the Monash Partners Implementation Science Network which held its first meeting last week, led by Lane Carrandi and Dr Susie Cartledge. This Network strengthens our commitment to building implementation capability and fostering a connected community of clinicians and researchers dedicated to evidence-informed change.

By empowering early career clinicians and researchers to lead the application of data, evidence and practical tools, the Network will help accelerate safer, more effective, equitable and patient-centred care across our partnership.

As Susie and Lane share:

“We are really excited to be co-leading this network and working with rising stars who are at the forefront of implementing significant changes within their health service and among different disciplines. We are looking forward to learning more about implementation science both with them and from them.”
Dr Susie Cartledge and Lane Carrandi.

I look forward to seeing the impact of this Network across our health services and communities, and the leadership that will emerge.
