Overview
An Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) are generally defined as a partnership between two or more research and healthcare entities and focuses on integrating research, clinical services, education and training.
AHSCs hold a joint and equal responsibility for the delivery of healthcare, education, and research. It is recognised that the combination of scientific method and clinical care is the fastest means of ensuring that scientific advances are translated into improved patient care.
The organisational structures that comprise an AHSC can take a variety of forms, ranging from simple partnerships to, more increasingly, fully integrated organisations with a single management board.
Monash Partners was Australia’s first accredited academic health science centre.
