In Australia, funding bodies such as the NHMRC require researchers to demonstrate how they involve consumers and community in all aspects of the research cycle. The Statement (below) on consumer and community involvement in health and medical research, co-authored by the NHMRC and the Consumers Health Forum of Australia, aims to guide research institutions, researchers, consumers and community members in the active involvement of consumers and community members in all aspects of health and medical research.
