Bridging Research and Quality Activities in Healthcare Summit

Victoria Koutsoubos

Over the past year, the Bridging Research and Quality Initiative has been working to develop more streamlined processes and improved systems for quality and low-risk research activities across healthcare settings.

Following the momentum from the February 2025 Summit, this event will bring together key stakeholders to explore and problem-solve around the Key Priority Areas identified for action.

Focus Areas

  • Interpreting the Statutory Guidelines: What information is currently provided to healthcare users — and how do variable interpretations of the Health Records Act impact research and quality activities?
  • Responsible Use of Data: What does good data stewardship look like? Understanding the concept of data custodianship and its practical implications.
  • Secondary Use of Data: Clarifying Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) requirements and promoting a shared understanding of ethical governance.

Join us for a collaborative and solutions-focused session designed to align policy, practice, and innovation — ensuring research and quality activities in healthcare are both efficient and ethically robust.

Who should attend:
Researchers, quality managers, ethics officers, health service leaders, data governance specialists, and anyone involved in the design or oversight of healthcare research and quality improvement.
