STAR Clinician
Fellow and PhD Program

Clinical academics are well positioned to integrate research into healthcare, informed by clinical practice and priority areas, and play a vital role in translation of research into practice.

The Monash Partners Strategic Translation and Research (STAR) Program invests in emerging and mid-career clinical academics to support career pathway development and train the next generation of researchers.

The STAR Program responds to an identified need to strengthen and build the multi-disciplinary clinical academic workforce. It is designed to foster and embed research into practice and equip clinical academics with important skills, knowledge and experience that support career progression toward future leadership roles.

The program has two streams and will be launched in 2021.

Clinician fellows program 2021

The competitively awarded Fellows Program supports future medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health leaders to undertake research projects directly relevant to their chosen field of work, embedding research and translation into healthcare.

Offered to early and mid-career clinicians currently working in a Monash Partners health service, the Fellows program will provide a part-time research salary for up to two years, as well as mentoring, training and networking opportunities.

PhD program 2021

Open to those with a competitively awarded scholarship, the PhD Program will provide additional stipend (income) to attract top health professionals into research.

Offered to early and mid-career clinicians in medicine, nursing, midwifery and allied health staff currently working in Monash Partners health services, the PhD program offers one-off financial support and access to training and networking opportunities.
